The Pitt Season 2 Surges with Viewers

The Pitt's second season on HBO Max saw a significant rise in viewership, averaging 15.4 million viewers over its first 90 days, a more than 50 percent increase from its first season in 2025.

Record-Breaking Streaming Numbers

Nielsen's streaming ratings reveal The Pitt surpassed a billion viewing minutes 13 times in its 15-week run this season. Nielsen data highlights how each week of season two outpaced corresponding weeks from its debut season, with some weeks more than doubling in viewership.

Detailed Viewing Trends

The weekly streaming totals from Nielsen include all series episodes. For example, from April 6-12, The Pitt amassed 1.13 billion viewing minutes, combining viewership from both seasons one and two. Isolated data for season two shows substantial improvements, especially during the middle of the season.

Weeks four through seven saw viewership more than double from a year earlier. Weeks three and eight showed a near 98 percent increase. The only week where season one came close to season two’s numbers was week 14, due to a two-episode premiere in 2025.

Overall Season Performance

Throughout its second season, The Pitt accumulated just over 11 billion viewing minutes, according to Nielsen, a 92 percent increase from the 5.72 billion minutes for its first season.

Between January 5 and April 19, all episodes of The Pitt garnered 16.86 billion minutes of viewing, with season two accounting for 65 percent of that total. Season two's percentage of total viewing climbed steadily, starting at 35 percent for the week of January 5-11 and surpassing 75 percent by week 11.

Viewer Engagement Patterns

During the final week of the season, the percentage of viewing time for season two dipped slightly, possibly due to catch-up viewing of the first installment. However, season two consistently held the majority of viewer engagement throughout its run.
