Originally scheduled for a 2025 theater release, the film's launch was delayed, ultimately choosing Paramount+ for its debut. Future of the Avatar Universe
With Avatar: Seven Havens set to premiere on Paramount+ on October 9, more projects are in development. Konietzko shared, "We have a script that we feel really good about, but we’ll see how this one fares. There's so much in the ‘Avatar’ world to explore in different time periods."
Creative Decisions and Character Development
Regarding character arcs, the team considered showing Katara pregnant but discarded the idea. DiMartino commented on the challenges of aging characters appropriately. Konietzko noted, "It put a weird spin. The plot of the movie started to put a strange context on Katara having a baby." Director Lauren Montgomery agreed, suggesting this could be explored in future films, emphasizing the need for space to develop stories.
