David Jonsson, the 2025 BAFTA Rising Star award winner, has been cast in A24's new film 'Please', directed by Halina Reijn. Jonsson's breakout roles in 'Rye Lane' and 'Alien: Romulus' have made him a notable addition to this project.
Reijn's Third Collaboration with A24
Reijn, known for her successful films 'Bodies Bodies Bodies' and 'Babygirl', is set to write and direct 'Please'. Her previous work with A24, particularly 'Babygirl', grossed $64 million globally, marking it as one of A24's top titles.
Star-Studded Cast
Joining Jonsson in 'Please' are Grammy-nominated singer Gracie Abrams, making her acting debut, 'Heated Rivalry' star Connor Storrie, and fellow British actor Tom Burke. The details of the film's plot remain undisclosed.
Production Team
David Hinojosa will produce 'Please', continuing his collaboration with Reijn for the third time. Reijn will also produce under her MAN UP Film banner, with A24 handling production and financing. Zach Nutman joins as executive producer.
Jonsson's Expanding Career
Jonsson's recent acclaim comes from his roles in 'The Long Walk' and 'Wasteman', the latter of which premiered in Toronto. He co-executive produced 'Wasteman' through his production company greyarea. Upcoming projects include Colman Domingo's 'Scandalous', Plan B's 'Chaperones', and a lead role in Frank Ocean's directorial debut.
Represented by United Agents, CAA, and Granderson Des Rochers, Jonsson's career continues to rise, with 'Please' marking another significant step.
