Frost & Jones Unveils New Film Projects

Director-actress-producer Sadie Frost and producer Simon Jones have launched a new production company, Frost & Jones, focusing on premium documentary and scripted film and television projects.

Quadrophenia Documentary in Production

The anchor project for Frost & Jones is a feature documentary titled 'The Story of Quadrophenia,' directed by Frost. Developed in collaboration with Rachel Fuller from Extended Play, Marc Robinson from Universal Music Group, Daniel Braun from Submarine Entertainment, and others, the documentary explores the cultural legacy of The Who's album 'Quadrophenia.' It also includes behind-the-scenes content from a 2025 rock ballet adaptation. The project has the backing of The Who's Pete Townshend and his manager Bill Curbishley, and features contributions from notable figures such as Ray Winstone, Phil Daniels, and Toyah Willcox. Discussions on international sales and distribution are ongoing with Submarine, Universal, and Studio Soho.

Exploring Cultural Icons

Following the success of her documentary 'Twiggy,' Frost expressed her desire to continue exploring narratives that define culture. 'Frost & Jones is about making work that stays with you — that connects across generations and feels relevant right now,' she said.

Another documentary in development is 'Zandra,' which traces designer Zandra Rhodes' career from the 1960s and her influence on fashion, music, and art. The film is being developed with Derek Taylor and Rogan Productions' James Rogan and Clio David.

Scripted Projects in the Works

On the scripted side, Frost & Jones is working on 'All Too Beautiful,' a biopic of Small Faces frontman Steve Marriott. Frost directs the film, and it's based on Paolo Hewitt's award-winning book. The project is being developed with Rosy Cross Productions' Tom Keenan.

Another scripted project, 'Faded Grace,' is a female-led psychological thriller co-written by Frost and Zoe Lewis. It is set in the present day and the 1990s and is developed with Dreamtown Entertainment's Ben Charles Edwards, Kirsty Bell, Phil McKenzie, and producer Emma Comley of Hooligan Dreamers.

Future Endeavors and Market Reception

Frost & Jones is also collaborating with ITN Productions on a feature documentary about a prominent yet unnamed British cultural figure. This project will incorporate personal archive material from the subject's early life and is being developed with the involvement of a key family member.

'This is about building a modern production company with real intent — creatively ambitious, commercially focused, and globally minded,' said Simon Jones. 'We’re developing projects with scale, with partners who can move quickly, and with a clear eye on audience. There’s a real appetite for these stories internationally, and we’re already seeing strong early interest across the slate.'

The projects were announced at the Cannes Film Market.
