Stephen Colbert engaged in playful on-air kisses with Pedro Pascal and Julia Louis-Dreyfus during Tuesday's episode of The Late Show, just after a similar moment with Jimmy Fallon.
Fallon Kickstarts the Trend
The kissfest began Monday night when Colbert reunited with fellow late-night hosts Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver, and Seth Meyers. During a game, Fallon teased Colbert about kissing guests on camera. Colbert responded by kissing Fallon, which the Tonight Show host later described as unexpected.
"Wow! Did not see it going there," Fallon commented after the kiss.
Colbert humorously noted his past on-screen kisses with celebrities like Sally Field, Helen Mirren, and Andrew Garfield, among others.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus Joins the Fun
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, appearing on Tuesday's show, referenced the Fallon moment by replaying the clip. She hinted at wanting her own spot on Colbert's list of on-screen kisses, quipping, "No one's watching. It's just between us." The pair then shared a kiss to the delight of the studio audience.
Following the kiss, Colbert joked, "Well, the interview’s going great so far. Why don’t we do another take?"
Pedro Pascal's Turn
Later, Pedro Pascal also expressed interest in sharing a kiss with Colbert. After a brief exchange, they locked lips, prompting cheers from the audience. Pascal humorously remarked, "I got jealous," to which Colbert assured, "No need! Anytime. These lips will soon be free."
Final Episode Approaches
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert will air its final episode on May 21, marking the end of Colbert's tenure as host. The recent playful interactions on the show have added a light-hearted note as the series approaches its conclusion.
