Myriad Pictures has acquired the North American distribution rights for 'A Silent Death', a psychological crime thriller directed by Sebastian Schindel. This deal was finalized between Myriad's Kirk D’Amico and FilmSharks' Guido Rud and Federico Pascua, aiming for a third-quarter 2026 release.
Film's Setting and Plot
Set in the 1980s Patagonia, 'A Silent Death' follows a hunting guide who stumbles upon a brutal crime connected to his niece. This discovery pulls him into an investigation that reveals hidden secrets from a violent past. The film features Joaquín Furriel, who previously starred in Schindel's 2014 film 'The Boss, Anatomy of a Crime'.
Key Cast and Cinematography
Alongside Joaquín Furriel, the film stars Soledad Villamil, known for 'The Secret in Their Eyes', and Alejandro Awada from 'Nine Queens'. Kirk D’Amico praised the film, stating, "We are excited to bring this suspenseful, well-crafted and multi-layered film to audiences in North America. Sebastian Schindel superbly directs a talented cast and Guillermo Nieto’s cinematography deftly helps to create a chilling atmosphere to this story of past and present crimes."
Distribution and International Rights
Guido Rud expressed confidence in Myriad as a distributor, saying, "Myriad is a legendary label with great eye for cinema and we truly feel we found the best distributor for this cinematic gem in North America." The film's Latin American rights have been sold to The Walt Disney Company, with Movistar+ acquiring Spanish rights and AV Jet securing rights for Taiwan. Negotiations are currently ongoing for distribution in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Korea, Italy, and Japan.
