Apple's upcoming iOS 27 may introduce significant customization options for its Camera app. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that the update will enable users to personalize the app with a variety of widgets along the interface's top.
Customizable Widgets
The Camera app will maintain its current default widgets, but users can switch to an 'advanced' set or choose their own items. An 'Add Widgets' tray will offer options divided into three categories: basic, manual, and settings. Each capture mode in the Camera app will have its specific widget set.
New Siri Mode
iOS 27 is expected to debut a new 'Siri' mode within the Camera app, enhancing visual intelligence capabilities. This aligns with broader design changes across iOS, including Siri's integration into the Dynamic Island and potential standalone app status.
Redesigns Across iOS
Other apps are also set for redesigns. The Image Playground app, Safari start page, and Weather app are slated for updates. The Weather app will feature a 'Conditions' section, and Siri could see more third-party AI model integrations.
