Charli XCX has released her new song titled “Rock Music” alongside a black-and-white music video directed by Aidan Zamiri, embracing a guitar-heavy sound while maintaining her pop roots.

The new track signifies Charli XCX's pivot to rock, with crunchy guitar riffs setting the tone. Despite the shift, the song keeps her pop essence intact. The video, crafted by Zamiri, complements the song's rock vibe. It follows his previous collaboration with Charli on the video for her “Guess” remix featuring Billie Eilish.
Upcoming Album Details
Charli XCX confirmed in a British Vogue cover story that her next album, a follow-up to 2024's 'Brat,' will feature more guitars and reduce Auto-Tune. “We were doing our version of analogue, which is so silly and funny,” she remarked. The album sees producers A.G. Cook and Finn Keane, formerly known as Easyfun, returning for recording sessions in Paris.
Film Projects and Collaborations
Earlier this year, Charli released a companion album for Emerald Fennell's adaptation of 'Wuthering Heights,' featuring artists like John Cale and Sky Ferreira. Ferreira noted that parts of the soundtrack stemmed from her old demos.
