While Amazon Now deliveries incur a fee, Prime members benefit from a $3.99 per-order fee, contrasting with the $13.99 fee for non-members. Additional fees apply for small orders below $15, with Prime members paying $1.99 and non-members $3.99. This straightforward fee structure is more economical for Prime members compared to other services with variable fees and potential item markups.
Strategic Fulfillment Network
To achieve the rapid delivery times, Amazon leverages a network of smaller fulfillment centers closer to urban areas, reducing travel distances and facilitating faster deliveries. The service operates 24 hours in most areas, offering a broad range of products, including healthcare items, pet supplies, and alcohol where allowed.
Continued Innovation in Delivery
Amazon Now joins an array of fast-delivery options provided by the company, such as 1-hour and 3-hour deliveries, and same-day delivery across millions of items. Additionally, Amazon is testing drone deliveries under 60 minutes in select U.S. locations. In 2025, Amazon's swift delivery options enabled over 13 billion items to reach Prime members globally, with the U.S. accounting for 8 billion of these deliveries, marking a 30% increase year-over-year.
