Yasiin Bey, known earlier as Mos Def, is set to reissue The Ecstatic, initially released in 2009, on vinyl and online via Qobuz. The album, originally launched through Downtown Records, marked a significant return to form for Bey, featuring acclaimed producers like Madlib, Oh No, and the late J Dilla. Over the years, it vanished from digital streaming platforms but will now be accessible once again.

New Vinyl Edition and Bonus Content

Scheduled for release on August 14, the new physical edition comprises a 2xLP set complemented by a 120-page hardcover book. Additionally, it includes a 7-inch record featuring two bonus tracks, “The Size” and “The Tournament.” This reissue aims to satisfy both audiophiles and collectors alike.

Partnership with Rhymesayers Entertainment

The reissue also marks the beginning of Bey's collaboration with Rhymesayers Entertainment, a Minneapolis-based independent label renowned for its dedication to artists and their creative freedom. This partnership is expected to bring new opportunities and visibility for Bey's future projects.

Streaming on Qobuz

Alongside the vinyl release, The Ecstatic will become available on Qobuz, a streaming platform distinguished by its high audio quality and favorable pay-per-stream model for artists. This move aligns with Bey's commitment to high-fidelity music experiences, offering fans an enriched listening experience.

These strategic moves reflect Bey's ongoing influence and adaptability in the ever-evolving music industry, reconnecting with long-time fans while reaching new audiences.
