Trophée Chopard Honors Odessa A'zion and Connor Swindells

The Trophée Chopard dinner in Cannes celebrated Odessa A'zion and Connor Swindells on Friday night, marking a highlight of the annual film festival's events.

Chopard's Glamorous History

Since 1997, when Caroline Scheufele of Chopard redesigned the Palme d’Or, the brand has been synonymous with the Cannes Film Festival. This year, jewelry from Chopard adorned celebrities like jury member Demi Moore, enhancing the festival's glamorous aura.

Starry Night at the Premiere

Prior to the Trophée Chopard ceremony, Scheufele attended the world premiere of Guillaume Canet’s Karma with stars Marion Cotillard, Odessa A'zion, Connor Swindells, and Isabelle Huppert. The latter served as the event's Godmother, offering guidance to the honorees.

“I wish you freedom,” Huppert stated, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and exploration over fleeting success.

Honoring Emerging Talent

The Trophée Chopard spotlights rising actors. This year, it recognized A'zion, who, in her first Cannes appearance, was both surprised and honored to join the ranks of past recipients like Diane Kruger and Anya Taylor-Joy. “This is crazy and weird—I’ve never even been to Cannes before,” A'zion said, reading from a note.

Swindells, known for his role in Sex Education, expressed gratitude to his late mother, Phoebe, attributing his success to her enduring influence. “This definitely wouldn’t have been possible, if not for her,” he said, acknowledging her spirit as a guiding force.

A Night to Remember

The Trophée Chopard dinner showcased the blend of fashion, film, and emerging talent that defines the Cannes Film Festival. With A'zion and Swindells now among its honorees, the event underscored its role in highlighting the next generation of cinematic talent.
