Panasonic has launched the Lumix L10, a compact camera aimed specifically at photographers, available for preorder starting at $1,499.99 in black or silver finishes. The L10, part of Panasonic's Lumix line celebrating its 25th anniversary, will also be offered in a limited titanium gold finish for $1,599.99, exclusive to Panasonic's online store.
Camera Specifications
Weighing in at 508 grams, the Lumix L10 boasts a magnesium alloy front case with a metal exterior featuring a saffiano leather-like finish. It houses a 20.4MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor, the same as in the Lumix GH7, but targets still photography over video capabilities. While the L10 can record 4K video at up to 120fps, its compact design limits heat dissipation and thus recording length.
Lens and Focus Features
The L10 comes with a 24-75mm Leica lens with an aperture range of f/1.7 to f/2.8, adjustable through a lens ring. Its macro capabilities allow autofocus on subjects as close as 3cm. The camera's phase hybrid focus system features 779 autofocus points, utilizing an AI-based recognition system to track eyes, faces, bodies, animals, and vehicles. High-speed shooting reaches up to 30fps with an electronic shutter or 11fps with the mechanical shutter.
Display and Customization
The camera is equipped with a 1.84-million-dot articulated screen and a 2.36-million-dot OLED viewfinder. It includes a dedicated button for applying various color effects and film styles, customizable through Panasonic's Lumix Lab mobile app.
