FKA twigs, the British singer and songwriter, is set to star as Josephine Baker in a forthcoming biopic directed by Maïmouna Doucouré. The film, which was initially announced in 2022, is expected to begin shooting this fall, according to Deadline.

Maïmouna Doucouré, known for her work on the film "Cuties," will direct the biopic, which will explore the life and legacy of Franco-American icon Josephine Baker. Baker was a dancer, singer, actress, and activist whose influence extended across continents.

Meanwhile, FKA twigs recently wrote "My Mouth Is Lonely for You," an original song for Anne Hathaway’s film "Mother Mary." She is also slated to appear in "The Lonely Woman," directed by Boy Harsher, alongside Chloë Sevigny, Sturgill Simpson, and Bonnie "Prince" Billy.
