Rudolph plays Kitana, who triumphs over the tyrant Shao Kahn to reclaim her home realm, Edenia. The film's storyline is shaped by screenwriter Jeremy Slater's aim to align with Mortal Kombat gameplay, leading to parallel arcs for Kitana and Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban.
Born in Hong Kong, Rudolph is of Korean and German descent, and despite being new to gaming and martial arts, she immersed herself in the Mortal Kombat lore and fighting styles.
On Set Challenges
Rudolph recounts intense preparation for her role, including extensive stunt training and martial arts. "There were a hundred people around me on set, and to zone in, I would stare Martyn [Ford] down," she shares, emphasizing the emotional investment in her performance.
The role of Kitana was a challenge she embraced. "When I first read the script, it felt like such a beautiful ensemble effort," Rudolph notes, highlighting the film's emotional depth.
Future Prospects and Mileena's Absence
While Mortal Kombat III is not yet green-lit, a second draft is nearing completion. Rudolph hopes to see Mileena return, suggesting there's room for her character's sisterly storyline with Kitana. "I wouldn’t necessarily close that door," she adds.
Rudolph also reflects on her connection with co-star Tati Gabrielle, who plays Jade, noting their previous work together on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Rudolph is set to star in the Reacher spinoff, Neagley, and the K-pop thriller, Perfect Girl. She expresses excitement about exploring the competitive world of K-pop, drawing from personal connections to the industry.
