TIS Studios has unveiled Stage 7, an 18,300-square-foot soundstage at its Bogotá complex, marking Colombia’s largest and one of Latin America’s biggest soundstages. The facility is 40 feet high and is part of the studio's broader expansion strategy.
Colombia’s Largest Soundstage
The newly launched Stage 7 enhances TIS Studios’ capacity to host large-scale international film and TV productions. Samuel Duque, president of TIS Studios, stated, “TIS Studios brings highly trained crews, international production standards and protocols to manage large-scale projects, all backed by nearly three decades of delivering premium content.” He emphasized that the addition of Stage 7, along with Colombia’s production incentives, provides a compelling reason for global producers to consider Colombia for their projects.
Advanced Production Facilities
Stage 7 is integrated into TIS Studios’ Bogotá production lot, which features seven other stages, including a dedicated casting studio. The complex offers standing sets such as a prison, a restaurant, and a furnished house interior. Additionally, a three-level backlot with interchangeable façades is available. The soundstage is fully soundproofed and equipped with a technical grid and climate-control systems, suitable for both scripted and unscripted shoots. Supporting facilities include green rooms, offices, wardrobe and makeup areas, catering, props and set-dressing warehouses, and on-site parking.
Postproduction and Incentives
The site houses postproduction facilities with cloud-based editing, color correction, visual effects, and Dolby Atmos-certified sound mixing. These services qualify under Colombia’s national production incentive. The opening follows TIS Studios’ hosting of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM), the country’s leading film and TV industry event.
Track Record and Future Projects
TIS Studios is headquartered in Bogotá, with offices in Mexico City and operations in Miami, serving over 16 countries. It has produced content for platforms like Netflix, Amazon, Disney, Paramount, CBS Studios, MTV, Fox Television Studios, Nickelodeon, NBCUniversal, and Telemundo. Their current projects include the fourth season of Telemundo’s “Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso” and the second season of Netflix’s “Medusa.” In Mexico, TIS recently released the Netflix microseries “Entre Padre e Hijo” and is set to premiere “Proyecto Final” later this month. Co-production credits include Netflix’s “The Good Wife” adaptation, “La Ley de Alicia.” TIS also handles international distribution for Gaumont’s Netflix series “Futuro Desierto,” part of a catalog exceeding 4,500 hours of content.
