Sydney Sweeney is set to lead the cast in Hollow, a film adaptation of Lindsey Anderson Beer's debut novel, slated for publication by Putnam in fall 2027.
Bringing 'Legend of Sleepy Hollow' to Life
Anderson Beer, known for her directorial work on 2023's Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, will both write and direct this reimagining of Washington Irving’s 1820 short story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The film is described as a gothic and erotic thriller, with Sweeney playing Katrina Van Tassel, who becomes the central figure in a supernatural love triangle involving schoolteacher Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones.
Production and Partnerships
The project will be produced by LuckyChap, with contributions from Beer’s Brew Lab and Sweeney’s newly formed Honey Trap. The film package is expected to attract interest from studios next week.
Previous Successes and Upcoming Projects
Sweeney previously starred alongside Amanda Seyfried in The Housemaid, a Lionsgate thriller that grossed over $400 million globally. Directed by Paul Feig, the film was based on Freida McFadden’s 2022 novel. A sequel, The Housemaid’s Secret, is scheduled for release in 2027.
