Sachin & Babi's Pre-Fall 2026 collection embraces family influences, featuring a prominent poppy print inspired by their daughter, Beau. “We put her to work and asked her to reinterpret and reimagine a watercolor floral,” Babi Ahluwalia shared. The print is showcased on a variety of pieces, including a feather-light silk top and skirt, a strapless gown, and the signature faille dress named after Beau.
Playful Silhouettes for Summer
The collection includes “luxurious linens” catering to warm-weather purchases, with silhouettes that offer a playful and ethereal vibe, contrasting the formality typically seen in their spring and fall collections. “I love to weave a dream—but someone needs to live in it,” Babi said. The aim is to create pieces that are easy to wear and enjoy, without being too precious.
Data-Driven Design
Babi’s “data pod” concept, derived from the black tie-ready gowns in their studio, helps her understand client needs and shape future collections. This approach, combined with complimentary alterations and hand-tailoring services, enhances their personalized service. “When you ask the right questions, it takes away all the stressors,” Babi noted, emphasizing a return to traditional dressmaking practices.
Trendsetting Scarves
Though not trend-focused, Sachin & Babi have introduced delicate chiffon scarves with beaded trims, which have become a staple for their practicality and elegance. “They’re so ‘in’ these days,” Babi laughed, noting their roots in traditional Indian attire. These scarves have gained popularity across different age groups, highlighting their versatility and appeal.
