Designer Anna October, now based in Paris while maintaining ties to Ukraine, has unveiled her Resort 2027 collection titled 'Cafe Pleasure,' drawing inspiration from the City of Light's renowned culture. "I’ve realized that honestly my vision is based on the things that I’m surrounded by every day," she stated about the influences behind her latest work.
Parisian Influence and Guimard Inspiration
October's collection pays homage to the sinuous lines of Hector Guimard, the architect famed for designing the Paris Métro stations. The line features leaf-shaped lace inserts for a peek-a-boo effect, and a jacquard fabric adorned with poppies, echoing the art movement Guimard was part of. Notably, two sky-blue ensembles—a bra-topped satin slip and a fringed frock paired with a poncho—stand out as quintessentially October.

The designer, known for her sensuous evening gowns, continues to diversify her offerings. This season's collection emphasizes separates, including shirts, curvy suits, and intricate pleated pants. October commented, "I don’t think that the world needs another simple shirt, but I’m sure that the color and fabric selection and the execution and the little details justify the existence of the new ones [in this collection.]" While the expanded range aligns with the theme of a café lifestyle, her core audience remains drawn to her extraordinary dresses.
