Kelela releases her latest single, "The Bridge," featuring PinkPantheress, ahead of her third album, New Avatar, which arrives this Friday.
New Musical Direction
New Avatar marks a departure from Kelela's established electronic R&B style, embracing her roots in the Washington, D.C. music scene. The album blends shoegaze, grunge, and indie rock with her usual influences. "The Bridge" follows earlier singles "Idea 1," "Linknb," "Point Blank," and "Outta Time." The album includes collaborations with A.K. Paul and Fousheé.
Previous Releases
Kelela's last studio album, Raven, was released in 2023 and was followed by a remix album featuring artists like LSDXOXO, Tygapaw, and Shygirl. She also released a live album, In the Blue Light, last year.
PinkPantheress Collaborations
PinkPantheress, who features on "The Bridge," released her studio album Fancy That in 2025, along with a remix version titled Fancy Some More? Her work was well-received, with Fancy That ranking at No. 18 on The 50 Best Albums of 2025.
