Jinant Film & TV’s drama Dear You maintained its lead at the China box office for the weekend of May 15-17, grossing RMB282 million ($41.5 million), according to Artisan Gateway.

Directed by Lan Hongchun and featuring actors Li Sitong and Wang Yantong, Dear You has amassed a cumulative total of $75 million. The plot centers on Grandma Ye Shurou from the Chaoshan region, whose life takes a turn when her grandson, Xiaowei, goes to Thailand to find his billionaire grandfather, Zheng Musheng. The tale reveals a decades-long secret love affair in Grandma's life.

In second place, Zhonghe Qiancheng’s thriller Vanishing Point earned $5.7 million, bringing its total to $60.9 million. Directed by Cheng Wei-hao with stars Zheng Kai and Liu Haocun, the film, based on the novel Sea Anemone, delves into dark secrets within a residential area triggered by a child's disappearance.
Cold War 1994 held the third spot, adding $2.3 million to its $40.4 million total. Produced by Edko Films and directed by Longman Leung, the prequel explores Hong Kong police dynamics pre-handover, with Daniel Wu and Terrance Lau leading the cast.

Amazon MGM Studios’ The Sheep Detectives debuted at fourth with $1.6 million over two days. Meanwhile, The Devil Wears Prada 2 completed the top five, adding $600,000 to reach a cumulative $14.3 million.

This weekend’s total box office revenue in Mainland China was $55.3 million. The year-to-date total for 2026 stands at $2.13 billion, marking a 45.9% decline from the same period in 2025.
