2026 Tony Awards: All the Winners

The 79th Tony Awards, hosted by Pink at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan on June 7, celebrated the best of the 2025–2026 Broadway season.

Top Honors

Best Musical: Schmigadoon! triumphed, beating The Lost Boys, Titaníque, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York).

Best Play: Liberation secured the top spot over The Balusters, Giant, and Little Bear Ridge Road.

Standout Performances

Joshua Henry won Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for Ragtime. Caissie Levy won Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, also for Ragtime.

In plays, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play went to John Lithgow for Giant, and Lesley Manville took Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for Oedipus.

Best Revivals

Best Revival of a Play: Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman triumphed, with competition from Becky Shaw and Every Brilliant Thing.

Best Revival of a Musical: Ragtime won, edging out Cats: The Jellicle Ball and Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show.

Direction and Design

Joe Mantello won Best Direction of a Play for Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, while Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch took Best Direction of a Musical for Cats: The Jellicle Ball.

Chloe Lamford's work on Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman won Best Scenic Design of a Play, and Dane Laffrey's designs for The Lost Boys earned Best Scenic Design of a Musical.

Lighting accolades went to Jack Knowles for Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman (Play) and Jen Schriever and Michael Arden for The Lost Boys (Musical).

Musical Achievements

Best Original Score was awarded to Schmigadoon! with music and lyrics by Cinco Paul. Doug Besterman and Mike Morris's orchestrations for Schmigadoon! also won.

Other notable winners included Kai Harada for Best Sound Design of a Musical and Mikaal Sulaiman for Best Sound Design of a Play, both for work on Ragtime and Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, respectively.

Qween Jean's costumes for Cats: The Jellicle Ball won Best Costume Design of a Musical, while Jeff Mahshie's designs for Fallen Angels won Best Costume Design of a Play.
