Undercover's Spring 2027 menswear collection by Jun Takahashi, presented on July 2, 2026, completes a creative trilogy with art from Belgian painter Michaël Borremans. The collection, named 'Poisonous Plants', draws inspiration from Borremans’ haunting still lifes of near-death botanicals, previously featured in Undercover's Fall 2015 womenswear and Fall 2016 menswear collections.

Artistic Collaborations

Details from Borremans’ portraits are meticulously integrated into the garments. Topstitching frames these artworks on the pockets and back of a reversible chore jacket, while a collarless shirt incorporates them into its fabric. A fawn technical fabric blouson displays a forlorn sprig of magnolia on its front, with the back defined by wavy seams, a theme throughout the collection, matched with pleated pants.

Versatile Garments

Sweatshirts, jean pockets, lenient shirts, Vans-collaborated shoe uppers, military-knit-jacket hybrids, and bandanas are all part of this collection, each leaving an imprint of Borremans’ art. The collection balances artistic elements with practicality, offering versatile pieces that stand out.

Core Pieces and Inspirations

Among the standout items are ripstop action pants with articulation darts and mismatched twisted seams. The collection also features a wavy-seamed Type II denim tribute in a heavy woven fabric. A series of bandana-print pieces deviates from traditional patterns to include accents inspired by Roman mythology and Dante’s Inferno, offering a unique aesthetic.

Undercover's Spring 2027 collection embodies a blend of art and fashion, showcasing Takahashi's commitment to innovative design and artistic collaboration.
