Triomics has secured $22 million in Series B funding to enhance its AI platform designed for oncologists and administrative staff. The funding round was led by Battery Ventures, with returning investors Nexus Venture Partners, Lightspeed, Y Combinator, among others.

Growing Need for AI in Oncology

Oncology advancements are extending patient lives, resulting in extensive medical records that challenge healthcare staff. Triomics addresses this with a platform to automate tasks like clinical trial matching and appointment preparation. Sarim Khan, co-founder of Triomics, noted, “We have seen medical records [with] thousands of pages of information.”

Platform Expansion and Impact

Founded in 2021, Triomics initially focused on helping doctors identify suitable clinical trials. With the growth of LLM capabilities, the platform expanded to include verifiable patient summaries, providing key information within existing healthcare tools. This reduces appointment prep time, allowing oncologists more patient interaction, crucial in a field burdened by complex patient histories and staff burnout.

Specialized AI for Leading Institutions

Triomics also automates tumor report submissions to government registries, a legal requirement for cancer centers. Unlike generic AI, Triomics is tailored for oncology data, attracting top institutions like Memorial Sloan Kettering and Yale Cancer Center. Khan highlighted the competitive landscape, noting rivals like Abridge and Microsoft’s Nuance, which offer AI medical scribes to document patient-doctor conversations.

Rapid Growth and Future Prospects

Khan reports rapid growth, with the startup’s enterprise customer base expanding fourfold and annualized recurring revenue increasing tenfold in the past year. This growth underscores the demand for specialized AI solutions in managing oncology patient data efficiently.
