The 34th Raindance Film Festival in London will feature Connor Storrie, Gorillaz, Kit Harington, Jane Fonda, and more in its 2026 lineup announced Monday.
Celebrating Emerging Voices
Festival organizers emphasized a focus on storytelling amidst global division. “Raindance is privileged to be a platform for sharing stories from emerging filmmakers: the new voices in cinema who won’t wait for big-time producers or major studios to greenlight their projects,” they said, highlighting films addressing topics from Ukraine to AI and more.
The festival will run from June 17-26, screening 85 narrative and documentary features, including 48 debut films, and 112 short films. The Raindance Immersive section will present 27 projects.
Opening and Closing Highlights
Michel K. Parandi’s debut feature April X, starring Storrie and Lilly Krug, will open the festival. The opening gala will also showcase the Gorillaz’s animated short film The Mountain, the Moon Cave and the Sad God from their latest album The Mountain.
The festival will close with the UK premiere of the documentary Eddie Cochran: Don’t Forget Me, directed by Kirsty Bell, exploring the life of the rock & roll icon known for “C’mon Everybody” and “Summertime Blues.”
Notable Films and Premieres
Other films include Jane Fonda-produced documentary Gaslit, Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s Pinocchio: Unstrung with Robert Englund, and Kit Harington’s directorial debut Psychopomp. Also premiering is Rooted Out: Chapter 1 by Freddie Hutton-Mills, depicting the Southport Riots of 2024.
Competition titles include Dužan Duong’s Summer School, while Richard Hawkins’ Think of England will screen out-of-competition.
