The animated series 'Among Us' has been unexpectedly released on Paramount+, with all 10 episodes now available for streaming. The surprise release was announced by series stars Yvette Nicole Brown and Liv Hewson at the Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles on Friday, June 5.
Surprise Announcement at Summer Game Fest
The announcement caught many off guard as there had been little information about the project since production wrapped in 2024. Fans attending the Summer Game Fest and those viewing the livestream were treated to the show's trailer, which features the beloved crewmates aboard their spaceship trying to identify a 'suspicious' impostor.
Star-Studded Voice Cast
Owen Dennis, the creator of the series, assembled a notable voice cast including Yvette Nicole Brown as 'Orange', Liv Hewson as 'Black', Kimiko Glenn as 'Cyan', Ashley Johnson as 'Purple', Wayne Knight as 'Lime', Phil LaMarr as 'Brown', Randall Park as 'Red', Dan Stevens as 'Blue', Debra Wilson as 'Yellow' and 'Computer', Elijah Wood as 'Green', and Patton Oswalt as 'White'.
Behind the Scenes
The series is executive produced by Dennis alongside Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Carl Neisser for Innersloth. Animation is handled by Titmouse, with Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina also serving as executive producers.
Game Origins and Popularity
'Among Us' is adapted from the widely popular online game that became a global sensation during the pandemic. The game reached nearly 500 million monthly active users by late 2020 and racked up over 4 billion views on YouTube. It also topped the App Store in 55 countries and Google Play in 66 countries.
