Hulu's 'The Season' Unveils First Trailer

Hulu has released the first trailer for 'The Season', an international acquisition set in Hong Kong's high society boating scene. The show is a collaborative production between Hong Kong's PCCW Media and SK Global, known for 'Crazy Rich Asians'.

High-Stakes Drama

According to the official logline, 'The Season' follows a privileged group of friends during a luxurious summer, which soon spirals into deception and power struggles. The series is described as 'White Lotus'-esque and centers on Cola, played by Jessie Mei Li, a new entrant to this elite society with a hidden agenda.

Intrigue and Opulence

The trailer, released exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter, showcases glamorous settings including horse races and yacht gatherings. Li's character, Cola, is heard vowing to dismantle the Hext family, a cornerstone of old-money society in Hong Kong.

Star-Studded Cast

Besides Jessie Mei Li, the cast includes Toby Stephens, Karena Lam, Chris Pang, Celina Jade, Justin Chien, Yvonne Chapman, Kōki, and Lee Jae-yoon. Hong Kong pop stars Anson Lo and Marf Yau also feature prominently.

Global Streaming Rollout

'The Season' will premiere exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. starting June 17. It will also be available on Now TV in Hong Kong and Viu in Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa. The series was created and executive produced by 'NCIS: Hawai’i' writer Yalun Tu, with Marialy Rivas directing and executive producing.

The series' executives include Janice Lee and Agatha Lo for PCCW Media, with Chloe Dan, Matt Aragachi, and Dylan Tarason representing SK Global.
