ElevenLabs has launched Music v2, a cutting-edge music-generation model capable of switching genres mid-track, providing artists unprecedented flexibility and creativity.
Enhanced Genre Versatility
Music v2 allows transitions from opera to heavy metal and back, while maintaining coherence in fast rap and incorporating non-musical sound effects. Artists can isolate and recreate specific sections of a track using prompts, a feature designed to preserve the integrity of untouched parts.
Improved Song Construction
The model supports the construction of songs section by section, enabling the crafting of intros, verses, and choruses before stitching them together. ElevenLabs claims enhanced reliability across languages, lyrics, vocals, and arrangements.
AI Music Competition Heats Up
The release follows a surge in AI music model development, with companies like Google, Stability AI, and Suno introducing models for longer and more complex tracks. Google recently showcased its Flow Music tool's new capabilities, including cover creation and music video generation, at the Google I/O developer conference.
Commercial Use and Platform Availability
Built on licensed data, ElevenLabs’ model is cleared for commercial use, addressing copyright concerns faced by competitors like Suno and Udio. Music v2 is now available via the ElevenCreative tool for marketing teams and the new ElevenMusic platform for AI song creation, with plans for ElevenAPI integration.
