The Soft Pink Truth's Latest Album: A Healing Soundscape

The Soft Pink Truth, a solo project of Matmos member Drew Daniel, presents a hypnotic and healing sound in the album Shall We Go On Sinning So That Grace May Increase? diverging from the usual distortion-heavy, sample-based works.

Matmos and The Soft Pink Truth

Matmos is known for its experimental focus, producing music with unique sound sources, such as medical procedure samples. The Soft Pink Truth, on the other hand, ventures into different musical territories, ranging from house records to black metal covers.

The Album's Unique Sound

Shall We Go On trades previous distortion for an organic, ambient texture. The album opens with "Shall," featuring unsettling drones and vocal chants, transitioning into the minimal beats of "We," which blends percussion and piano.

"Go" introduces a call to prayer, followed by the ambient "On," with its choir-like vocals and glitchy piano. These tracks build up to "Sinning," the album's centerpiece, with its saxophone, bells, and vibraphones creating a groove.

Live Instrumentation and Spontaneity

Unlike previous projects, Shall We Go On... emphasizes live instrumentation and spontaneity, capturing the essence of human creativity and art's healing power. The album seamlessly transitions into "So," a comedown track with saxophone motifs leading into "That" and the explosive "Grace."

"May Increase" concludes the album by deconstructing previous chaos, ending with a deep exhale.

The album is available on Bandcamp and most major streaming platforms, including YouTube Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and Deezer.
