Seth Rogen confirmed to The New York Times that he hasn't spoken to James Franco in a 'long time' and has no plans to collaborate with him in the future.

Addressing the state of his relationship with Franco following allegations of sexual misconduct against Franco, Rogen said, 'I honestly think the nuance of it is too personal for me to get into right now. It's a very personal thing. There's the public-facing side of it, which I've spoken about, and I have the same stance publicly that I've had, and I think the proof is in the pudding — I have not worked with him in years. But the personal side of it is just so nuanced, and it involves people that I don't know if I should be dragging into this. I don't know what I would benefit from getting deeply into it. Nothing has changed since the last time I talked about all this, and I haven't worked with him in a really long time and I have no plans to.'
No Communication
NTY’s Lulu Garcia-Navarro pressed further, asking Rogen if he still communicates with Franco. Rogen responded, 'I haven't talked to him in a long time, no.'
A History of Collaboration
Rogen and Franco once formed a dynamic duo in Hollywood, beginning with Paul Feig’s 'Freaks and Geeks' in 1999. Rogen, then 16, and Franco, 21, would go on to star together in several hit comedies like 'Knocked Up,' 'Pineapple Express,' 'This Is the End,' and 'The Interview.'
Franco's Career and Misconduct Allegations
Franco's career came to a halt in 2018 after allegations of sexual misconduct were made by five women, including four of his acting students. In 2019, two women filed a class action lawsuit against Franco, claiming inappropriate and sexually charged behavior, which he settled in 2021 for $2.23 million.
Rogen had previously expressed doubt about working with Franco again. In a 2021 interview with The Sunday Times, Rogen mentioned regretting his 2018 comments about being open to future collaborations with Franco, stating, 'I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now.'
Franco, in a 2024 interview with Variety, discussed his relationship with Rogen, saying, 'No. I haven't talked to Seth. I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it's over. And not for lack of trying. I've told him how much he's meant to me.'
