The Federal Bureau of Prisons has moved Sean "Diddy" Combs' release from prison up to February 23, 2028, after he was sentenced to 50 months for Mann Act violations last year.
Sentence Adjustments
This marks the second adjustment to Combs' prison exit date. Originally set for June 4, 2028, it was previously changed to April 15, 2028. Combs' legal team is appealing the jury's guilty verdict from last summer on charges of transportation for prostitution.
Rehabilitation Program
Combs likely joined a drug rehab program at Fort Dix, which can reduce sentence time. Though the Federal Bureau of Prisons did not confirm his participation, the reduction aligns with the program's benefits.
The Bureau declined to comment on specifics, stating it does "not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual, including release plans." Early release can result from "good conduct time" and credits from approved activities.
Legal and Personal Challenges
Fort Dix, chosen for its proximity to Combs' family, became his place of incarceration after his children appealed for his release. Prosecutors had sought a 10-year sentence, alleging serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges, but the jury delivered a split verdict.
Combs' trial revealed allegations of emotional and physical abuse from staffers, with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura testifying about drug-fueled sessions. Despite this, the jury did not convict on the more severe charges.
Post-trial, Combs and Ventura face a lawsuit from an escort alleging an STI contraction. Combs also faces at least 70 civil suits related to various complaints.
Ongoing Appeals
Combs' legal team is appealing to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, arguing that the sentencing judge improperly considered acquitted allegations.
