Savette celebrated its five-year anniversary on Wednesday with a lively gathering at Walker’s in Tribeca, New York, hosted by accessory designer Amy Zurek.
Walker’s Transformed for the Night
Amy Zurek, who started Savette while living in Tribeca, chose to celebrate in one of her favorite local spots. “It’s our version of a pub night,” she said, with silver balloons adding to the festive atmosphere. Guests, including friends of the brand, enjoyed martinis and fries while dressed in chic midi skirts and kitten heels, embodying a summer-in-the-city vibe.
Signature Pochette Bags on Display
Savette’s flagship Pochette bags, known for their minimalism and oval-shaped closure, were prominently featured. Model Jacquelyn Jablonski, showcasing her baby bump in pink, accessorized with a teal Pochette. Others sported the new trapeze version or models in suede, leather, and exotic skins.
Zurek’s Design Philosophy
Having worked with The Row, Khaite, and Coach, Zurek was determined to maintain ethical production and responsible sourcing for her bags. “I was always thinking of the lines and how the lock needed to be simple but really sturdy,” she said. Her collaboration with a third-generation atelier in Florence remains central to Savette’s production.
Looking Ahead
One of Zurek’s highlights has been working with top retailers and seeing her designs on their shelves. She is now exploring opening her own physical space and will launch her first showroom this summer, inviting handbag enthusiasts to join her.
