Miu Miu celebrated the reopening of its Ginza store with a jazz-themed event that unfolded across three iconic Tokyo venues, honoring the brand's connection to Japanese culture.
Miu Miu's Ginza Flagship Reopening
The evening kicked off at the Ginza flagship store, where eager fans lined up to catch a glimpse of K-pop star and brand ambassador Wonyoung of Ive. Dressed in a Panama cotton crop top and skirt set, Wonyoung's arrival was met with cheers and camera flashes, while security quickly escorted her inside.
Inside, guests previewed the new Miu Miu Upcycled collection, featuring white cotton vests and miniskirts adorned with glass beads. Attendees donned chic ensembles, including handkerchief tops and sequined skirts, while DJ Nina Yamada set the mood with jazz records. Laurent Perrier and sparkling Saicho darjeeling tea were served as guests lounged on velvet sofas surrounded by green hydrangeas.
Dance Hall Shinseiki Transformation
As night fell, attendees moved to Dance Hall Shinseiki, a venue dating back to 1969, transformed into a cabaret-style club with red velvet curtains and mirrored walls. The room evoked the post-war jazz kissa atmosphere, complemented by whiskey highballs and espresso martinis.
Music was provided by Lily, a DJ from Ella Records, followed by a vibrant set from Reiya Terakubo who mixed jazz, funk, house, hip-hop, and R&B.
Hiromi's Spellbinding Performance
Unexpectedly, acclaimed pianist Hiromi took the stage, delivering a captivating thirty-minute performance. Her dynamic play left the audience mesmerized, as she passionately navigated the keys with precision and energy, silencing the crowd.
Finale at Tokyo Kinema Club
The evening concluded at the Tokyo Kinema Club, a former cabaret turned live music venue, where singer-songwriter Arlo Parks performed. Her powerful voice filled the space, engaging the crowd enjoying Champagne and yuzu cocktails.
Throughout the night, each performer, from Wonyoung to Hiromi to Arlo Parks, embodied the distinctive and authentic spirit synonymous with the Miu Miu girl.
