Rob’s music, energy and legacy helped shape a generation and brought joy to millions around the world. Beyond the stage, he was a loving father, family man, friend and creative force whose impact will never be forgotten. Early Career and Breakthrough

Born on May 18, 1967, Rob Base started his music career alongside Rodney Bryce, known as DJ E-Z Rock. The duo's 1988 release 'It Takes Two' reached No. 3 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and the album of the same name hit No. 4 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, earning platinum status. Their follow-up single, 'Get on the Dance Floor,' topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and climbed to No. 11 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Solo Ventures and Collaborations

In 1989, Rob Base launched his solo career with the album 'The Incredible Base,' which reached No. 20 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He later reunited with DJ E-Z Rock for the 1994 album 'Break of Dawn.' DJ E-Z Rock passed away in 2014, but their collaborative works continue to influence the hip-hop scene.
