Apple TV has renewed the series Margo’s Got Money Troubles for a second season, one week before the first season's finale, amid critical acclaim.

Star-Studded Cast Returns

Elle Fanning stars as Margo, a college student who turns to OnlyFans to support herself and her baby. The show features Michelle Pfeiffer and Nick Offerman as Margo’s parents, a former Hooters waitress and an ex-professional wrestler. Other cast members include Thaddea Graham, Nicole Kidman, Marcia Gay Harden, Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Rico Nasty, and Lindsey Normington.

Behind the Scenes

Eva Anderson will join creator David E. Kelley as co-showrunner for the second season. Fanning, who also serves as executive producer, expressed excitement: “When I first read Rufi’s stunning story, it felt wholly original and, most importantly, human. Bringing more of Margo’s troubles, creativity, fearless spirit, and authenticity to audiences with a second season makes me incredibly happy and excited.”

Creative Team and Production

The series, based on a novel by Rufi Thorpe, is produced by A24. Executive producers include Fanning, Dakota Fanning, Brittany Kahan Ward, Kidman, Per Saari, Matthew Tinker, Pfeiffer, Thorpe, Boo Killebrew, and pilot director Dearbhla Walsh. Season one episodes were directed by Kate Herron and Alice Seabright.

Network and Production Insights

Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV, stated, “Ever since David’s sharp adaptation of Rufi’s novel debuted, audiences have wanted to spend more time with these riveting characters and the brilliant cast behind them.” He added, “We’re excited to watch Margo and the entire family continue to defy the odds in season two in the way only they can — with humor, determination, and creativity.”
