Defense technology firm Anduril has secured $5 billion in a Series H funding round, doubling its valuation to $61 billion. Returning investors Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz led the round, according to an announcement on May 13, 2026.

Doubling Valuation in a Year

In the previous year, Anduril raised $2.5 billion, achieving a $30.5 billion valuation, with Founders Fund contributing a $1 billion check, the largest it had ever written. The latest funding round marks a significant leap in valuation for the nine-year-old company.

Revenue Growth and Strategic Moves

Anduril doubled its revenue in 2025, reaching $2.2 billion, as noted by CEO Brian Schimpf in a blog post. Despite the company's success, the Department of Defense shows no signs of exclusive deals with any single startup. The Air Force recently selected Shield AI's software to work with Anduril's 'Fury' autonomous fighter jet, sharing the contract rather than awarding it solely to one company.

Anduril continues to expand its contracts, both domestically and internationally. In May, it announced participation in developing a 'golden dome' space-based missile defense shield for the U.S., alongside winning contracts from the Dutch Ministry of Defence and the U.S. Army for its Lattice platform.

Venture Investment in Defense

Schimpf highlighted the shift in venture capital interest in defense, stating, "When we founded Anduril in 2017, defense was not a category that attracted significant venture investment. That has changed meaningfully over the last several years."

Other defense startups have also seen significant investment: Shield AI raised $1.5 billion in March at a $12.7 billion valuation, Hermeus secured $350 million last month for its hypersonic unmanned fighter jets, and Helsing is reportedly raising $1.2 billion at an $18 billion valuation.

To date, Anduril has raised more than $11 billion from investors.
