Marieke Meulendijks and Maickel Weyers, founders of the fashion label Róhe, officially tied the knot in Amsterdam on September 13, 2025, after a 25-year relationship. The wedding, reflecting their life together, was held across five venues in the city.
Long-Lasting Relationship
Marieke and Maickel met 25 years ago in a bar in Holland. Recalling their first encounter, Marieke said, “It was a simple first encounter at the end of an evening.” Their bond grew stronger, leading to a surprise proposal in Oman, where Maickel presented a vintage Art Deco ring.
Multiple Venues Celebration
The couple's wedding day involved a journey through the city, starting with a boat tour and a gathering at Libertine café. The ceremony took place at the Keizersgracht church, followed by cocktails at Huis de Vicq, the Róhe headquarters. The reception was held in a Brutalist church, and the celebration concluded with dancing at an industrial space.
Bespoke Fashion
Both Marieke and Maickel wore Róhe designs throughout the weekend, with Marieke changing into four different looks on the wedding day. These outfits inspired their first wedding capsule collection. The couple also had custom wedding rings designed by Sophie Bille Brahe, each representing an initial of their family members.
Personal Touches
The event was meticulously planned with the help of wedding planner With Lotte, featuring music that held special significance for the couple. A saxophonist and personal letters for guests added to the intimacy of the occasion. Their daughter Teddy's performance was a highlight of the ceremony.
