Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested on Saturday in Miami. The Associated Press reports that British authorities are seeking their extradition on charges of rape and sex trafficking.

U.S. Marshals Involvement

Charges have not been detailed, but Brady McCarron, a spokesperson for the U.S. Marshals Service, confirmed to the AP that the Tate brothers were taken into custody on a sealed warrant.

New Charges Emerge

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) issued a statement indicating prosecutors decided to file additional charges against the Tates concerning four new victims. The CPS plans to seek their extradition for the original 21 charges and the new allegations.

History of Controversy

Andrew Tate, known for his controversial social media presence centered around extreme misogyny, gained attention in 2016 after appearing on the U.K.'s Big Brother. He was removed from the show after a video surfaced showing him allegedly attacking a woman.

Previous Legal Issues

In May 2025, Andrew and Tristan were charged with 21 crimes in the U.K., including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking. According to the BBC, Andrew faces 10 charges related to three alleged victims, while Tristan faces 11 charges connected to one alleged victim. Both were also arrested in Romania in 2022 on similar accusations, which they denied.
