SPOILER ALERT: This story contains significant details about “Blue Film,” now available on VOD.
Kieron Moore, known for his role in Netflix's “Boots,” discusses his involvement in “Blue Film,” where he explores complex and provocative themes.
Going Blind into "Blue Film"
Moore hopes audiences approach “Blue Film” with as little information as possible. “I think it’s really good to go in as blind as you can,” Moore says. The movie features Moore as Aaron Eagle, a gay cam boy involved in a disturbing encounter with Hank Grant, portrayed by Reed Birney.
A Challenging Role
Moore was introduced to the script by his manager and found it compelling. “I had no idea what it was about, but then the script was a real page turner for me,” Moore explains. His interest led to a Zoom meeting with Reed Birney and writer-director Elliot Tuttle, after which he joined the project.
Exploring Taboos
To prepare, Moore consulted friends in content creation, which helped him understand the film's themes. “It sort of broke down the walls for me in regards to my own sort of shame, of my of taboos,” he says. The experience was liberating and educational, offering insights into human sexuality.
From "Boots" to "Blue Film"
Moore also addresses the cancellation of “Boots,” dismissing rumors that it was due to political pressure. “The show was really successful, and that’s all we know,” he comments. Despite the show’s end, Moore continues to find inspiration and growth in new roles.
“Blue Film” is now available for purchase on digital platforms.
