Apple's Eddy Cue is set to receive the Entertainment Person of the Year Award at Cannes Lions next month, acknowledging his leadership in advancing Apple's entertainment and services unit, notably with the Apple TV platform since 2019.
Keynote Seminar with Jerry Bruckheimer
Cue, Apple's senior VP of services and health, will deliver a keynote seminar at the event running from June 22-26 in Cannes. He will be joined by Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer, known for producing the successful “F1: The Movie” for Apple.
Apple's Impact on Consumer Behavior
Simon Cook, CEO of Lions, highlighted Apple's significant influence on consumer habits through its pioneering devices as a factor in honoring Cue this year. “Eddy Cue has consistently pushed the boundaries of entertainment and storytelling,” Cook stated. “Under his leadership, Apple has produced world-class content and shaped the future of entertainment through innovation, creativity, and quality.”
Apple's Ascendancy in Entertainment
Under Cue's guidance, Apple expanded into TV and film, launching Apple TV in November 2019. Notable achievements include winning the Oscar for best picture with “CODA” in 2021 and earning 13 Emmy Awards for “The Studio” last year, setting records for a comedy series.
“We’ve always thought that art was a big piece of the DNA of who we are,” Cue told Variety in June 2025. He noted that as streaming platforms focused on quantity, Apple saw an opportunity in emphasizing high-quality content.
Upcoming Cannes Lions Events
Cannes Lions will also host its inaugural global CMO summit on June 24. Additionally, global brewer AB InBev has been named Creative Marketer of the Year.
